Hillary Clinton made the safe choice, Tim Kaine: #tellusatoday

We may be looking at the next two presidents on stage right now.

Hillary Clinton announced her vice presidential pick, Sen. Tim Kaine, on Friday. She reffered to him as a progressive who is “everything Donald Trump and Mike Pence are not.” Facebook comments are edited for clarity, length and grammar:

Kaine has as much foreign and defense policy experience as anyone, not to mention has been a lieutenant governor, a governor and a senator.

He is a very serious and responsible choice. He isn’t a rabid climate-changer-denier. He has been a supporter of LGBT rights since before all the cool kids were doing it. He has so much to bring to the race because he knows how to win high-profile elections.

What more do folks want? No one can be everything, but this guy has a lot of serious merit for these serious times. He could easily be one of the more qualified vice president in modern history in that aspect.

The Hillary-Kaine team is all smiles, they are the establishment candidates, backed by big business, big government, big media and big politics.

I wonder if someday the American people will wake up and realize that voters ought to have the right to pick whoever they want for vice president, regardless of who the presidential candidate picks. Also that they don’t have to vote for the options of the Republican or Democratic parties.

— John Morgan

Kaine is a good man and delivered an awesome speech on Saturday. A lot of my die-hard Republican friends blew my phone up after the Kaine speech! Guess who they are voting for now? Clinton-Kaine.

At first I thought this was a safe, solid pick. I am now thinking this is an absolutely excellent pick. We may be looking at the next two presidents on stage right now.

They are a great team! I am very excited about my country for the first time in my life. Donald Trump seems scary.

We asked our followers their thoughts on Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential pick, Sen. Tim Kaine. Twitter comments are edited for clarity, length and grammar:

Remove Clinton and move Kaine into the #1 spot and you may have something.

— @FallSnowman

The safe, white male choice in a year where minorities and national security are major issues.

— @JeffOstach

I think Kaine is the safe pick. Would have loved to have seen Sen. Elizabeth Warren or Sen. Bernie Sanders.

— @Johnhynes1966

A good progressive choice.

— @ChrisCG5

I think Kaine’s terrific! His speech on Saturday was explosively upbeat and a wonderful antidote to the Republican’s week of hate.
