If you watched the Republican convention and you don't think of America as the scariest place on Earth, clearly the speechwriters failed. At least that's the take of the late-night comics who emphasized in their post-convention wrap-ups a party that seemed to put fear mongering over facts and a nominee who, according to Bill Maher, apparently thinks of himself as the second coming.
