We’re almost there, America, just hold tight: #tellusatoday

Most early voters had their minds made up and just want to be done.

Letter to the editor:

Election Day signifies the end of the presidential race, but only at the polls. Beginning Wednesday, all sane Americans who have been vilified, intimidated, derided or otherwise excoriated by Donald Trump will have the continuous opportunity to cast their ballots with their wallets.

That’s what makes America a great democracy. We can also vote with our wallets. As Trump exits the campaign trail in defeat — and will surely continue his rhetoric via a television station, rallies and/or other mediums — let’s show him what we really think of him, his name and his brand. Women, Latinos, Muslims, African Americans and all kinds of folks who believe he is unhinged should not purchase any products even remotely associate with Trump.

They should not stay at a Trump hotel, whether he built it or just licensed his name. The same holds true for any residential properties that bear his name or are affiliated with him.

Losing the election will only inspire and embolden Trump. Losing economically will not only humble him, it will surely distract him from disseminating the venom and jibberish that he continuously spouts from his mouth.

America is already great. Without Trump leading it, America will be exponentially greater.

This election season has been going on for well over a year and a half (since Sen. Ted Cruz entered the race) — way longer than other campaign seasons in other democracies. We’ve been inundated with campaign ads and non-stop coverage in the news media for most of that time. Most of us who voted early have had our minds made up for a long time and just want to be done with it all.

Early voting is about increasing turnout by allowing more people to cast their ballot. Voter participation is a good thing.

I could agree that releasing early voting data can “distort” things somewhat. There’s no need to do that.

How I had to end friendships due to their rabid support for Donald Trump and the ugly language they used to do so.

@miwapiwa

People make it hard for a person to run for president yet complain about the choices we end up with.

@HDblurredvision

What surprised me most were the evangelical leaders backing Trump, when they had so many better options.

@greene_ray

How totally obsessed I became with it. Had to watch all the channels and read all the papers. Now I need sleep and peace.

@SoftRx

That people really think the presidency is a reality TV show. Shows how low our country has sunk.
