For better or worse, America is changing: Your Say
Readers react to President-elect Trump and the recent demonstrations around the country against his presidential win.
Letter to the editor:
I was not a Donald Trump supporter, but people need to give him a chance. Towards the last part of his campaign, and now during his “president-elect” status, he is acting more presidential in nature. I’m also sure that his past treatment of women is just that — in the past. People need to recognize that there are different ways of solving problems in our society, and that the traditional liberal way is not the only way. Let’s give President-elect Trump a chance. He seems to be starting with the idea of uniting the country.

Letter to the editor:
Everyone seems to be dancing around this, but the primary reason Donald Trump won, plain and simple, is because of Hillary Clinton’s negative image. When people voted for Trump, they were first and foremost against Clinton. The Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. They nominated a candidate with the lowest approval rating ever. How stupid is that? They had a huge number of excellent candidates to choose from. It tells you how much influence the Clintons had within the Democratic Party. Had Sen. Bernie Sanders been the nominee, it would be President-elect Sanders. The Democrats’ ignorance made Trump seem like a genius.

Letter to the editor:
Street demonstrations by liberal college students and Hispanics broke out against the election of Donald Trump, which is the defining result of an education system replete with insidious indoctrination of ignorance. Indeed, when students around the country march in the street shouting “f--- Trump” and “Trump is not my president,” it is glaring evidence of socialist political anarchy against America.
President Obama will be gone, and our nation will recover, reform and prosper under Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress.
