Did Democrats protest Obama’s orders? Your Say

Letter to the editor:

When the Democrats used executive orders and the nuclear option to the dismay and outrage of the Republicans, was it not obvious that they opened the doors for the GOP to do the same?

Is it fair to expect the Republicans to suffer from these Democratic excesses while denying it to themselves? Only Democrats can choose judges with a 51 majority vote but the Republicans need more than 60? Democrats who are now crying foul are the hypocrites.

Letter to the editor:

I agree with the Paste BN Editorial Board’s observation on “Hypocrisy on executive orders,” but they missed half of the story. Every side is engulfed in hypocrisy.

Why are all these Democrats and heart-bleeding liberals so freaked out when they had their lips zipped shut for the last eight years? Where were they when President Obama abused the power of the executive? Where were all these protesters when innocent lives were called “collateral damage” these past eight years?

It was corrupt obstructionism when Republicans blocked Obama’s agenda, but are Democrats accepting that their games are just that?

Every side lives in a perpetual state of offense. No one is being silenced. Everyone is screaming at the top of their lungs but no one listens. These protesters, self-described dreamers, progressives, nasty women, bad “hombres” or whatever are doing too little too late, and it amounts to nothing but catharsis. It was a tough loss.

The Democrats kept silent for eight years, even celebrating the most imperialistic of all orders. They sowed the vine that will now strangle them.
