Clear diversion from Trump, keep digging: #tellusatoday
Readers react to Trump’s claim of wiretapping.
President Trump accused Barack Obama — without evidence — of having him wiretapped in connection with an investigation of Russia. Trump called for a congressional investigation into whether “executive branch investigative powers were abused.” Facebook comments are edited for clarity and grammar:
The presidency has become a reality TV show, and we can’t turn it off.

Sorry you liberals lost, but we want our president to do his job, and that includes draining the swamp of all the sewer rats. It’s liberals who are truly blind and ignorant.
— Jen Tipton
As amusing as Trump is with his attempts at deflection, he is becoming dangerously unhinged.
As much as I disagree with Vice President Pence on some issues, he is at least calm and rational. Pence needs to become our 46th president in the next few weeks.
— Scott Hardy
If the request was approved, then there was adequate reason to believe there was wrongdoing by the Trump campaign. The judge would have otherwise not approved it if there weren’t.
— Dave Keeler
When Trump gets caught in lies, or his Cabinet picks or advisers get caught in lies, he tries to change the subject by spinning his lunatic theories on Twitter. He is mentally unstable and unfit to be commander in chief.
Trump must be investigated for Russian connections and possible tax laws broken. If solid evidence is found, he must be impeached.
— Edward J. Hale
Trump tweets these statements, and then proves them. I’m sure there are several timelines out there, but nothing from the mainstream news media. Trump has access to all that happened under Obama; it’s just finding a few honest whistle-blowers to be honest instead of liberal idealists.
I’m sure there was a Trump campaign investigation by the FBI. And if there were wiretaps, they probably weren’t stopped after the findings of an investigation.

We asked our followers their thoughts on President Trump’s claims that President Obama wiretapped him during the 2016 election. Tweets are edited for clarity and grammar:
Based on what I’ve seen lately, I think the news media wouldn’t acknowledge it even if they had evidence it was true!

Trump has been successful at diverting the public’s attention away from his ties to the Russian government, until now.
— @jeff_ostach
I have no doubt Obama spied on Trump on Hillary Clinton’s behalf. Obama’s wordsmiths are already choosing what they say very carefully.
— @ruff_1
Less credible than the birther claim, if that’s possible.
— @Hackey4Duke
I think Trump is a liar and makes things up to get attention, or maybe he’s just paranoid.
