Beyonce's ode to female empowerment says it all: "Who runs the world? Girls!"

And in the case of Doug Jones' Alabama Senate victory, black women specifically ran  the vote, with 98% turning out for the Democratic candidate — prompting multiple phrases that include the words "black" and "women" ("black women Alabama" is one example) to break Twitter.

The best victory GIF in the flurry of thanks on the social media platform? Former first lady Michelle Obama dancing the Dougie in a tweet that praised "Dougie" Jones' victory and the power of the black female vote.

And while many late-night shows thanked women for "saving America" by highlighting the black female comics who work on their shows, Samantha Bee also focused on the women who originally pointed out the potential danger of a Roy Moore victory -- the women who were brave enough to come forward and talk about sexual assault.
