Conan: Women's World Cup win may inspire US to get a men's soccer team


Conan O'Brien, Desi Lydic of 'The Daily Show' and Jimmy Kimmel take a look at women's soccer, male shortcomings and pay in Best of Late Night.

Well, it's not like the U.S. doesn't have a men's soccer team. It's just that we don't have one worth talking about. 

But after Sunday's 2-0 World Cup win against the Netherlands, the nation, no the world, will be talking about U.S. women's soccer for some time. And the team's victories throughout the tournament prompted late-night comics Conan O'Brien and Desi Lydic to start thinking more critically about what the men are (or perhaps aren't) doing. 

The virtually non-existent men's team hasn't won since former Vice President Joe Biden entered Congress, according to O'Brien. To find out when that was (with a bit of exaggeration), take a look at today's Best of Late Night, above. 

And, earlier in the tournament, Lydic talked about female players suing for equal pay. These victories weren't just about winning, they were about the fact that maybe the men should be paid less. Take a look at today's webisode to see Lydic's very sportsmanlike victory run.
