SNL's Che explains why impeachment turned him into a Republican
The impeachment trial has included odd moments. But perhaps none as strange as Michael Che's party switch. All is explained in Best of Late Night.
Although there will be no witnesses called during the impeachment trial (the Senate voted against that on Friday), the trial itself has been witness to some highly memorable (and sometimes strange) moments. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (one of seven House impeachment managers) brought the Notorious B.I.G. to the party with his sharp use of the lyric "If you don't know, now you know" when speaking about why such a trial was necessary.
And President Donald Trump's lawyer Alan Dershowitz essentially justified Trump's unscrupulous behavior with Ukraine by explaining that it was for the good of the country, and was therefore OK.
But perhaps the strangest result of the trial thus far, is that it made "Saturday Night Live" star Michael Che jump ship on the Democrats and join the Republican Party. Why?
