As the Superman movie enters its second week at the box office and becomes one of the most popular movies of 2025, the conversation about movies being too woke persists.

Politics and media have been a part of our conversation for years now, and it seems that gets amplified whenever a major new piece of entertainment gets released. "Superman" is the latest target of that rhetoric, with many saying the movie's themes are "woke" and political.

Be it music, award shows, video games, or major movie releases. We often seem to return to politics and the notion that something might be too "woke" or political for our sensibilities.

Is 'Superman' woke? Tell us.

So we want to ask you, our readers, if you think our entertainment is too steeped in politics, or if you think the entire conversation is silly and misguided. Fill out our form below or send us an email to forum@usatoday.com with the subject line "Forum Superman." We'll pick the best responses for a follow-up post.

Here are some questions to help you respond.

  • Have you seen "Superman"? Do you think it's woke or not?
  • Do you think our entertainment has become too political? Why or why not?
  • Do you think people are just too sensitive and misunderstand the movies they watch?
  • Are there other forms of entertainment you think are too political?
