Could your pet be your doppelganger? Show us your twin-tastic lookalike pics

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most identical of them all? You and your sidekick, perhaps? If you have a pet doppelganger--  we want you to send us photos.

We’ve all heard that pets can sometimes resemble their owners — remember that opening scene in 101 Dalmatians where each dog was a mirror image of the person holding the leash? But there actually is some evidence that the pop culture trope is rooted in science!

Studies show that there’s a tendency for dogs and their owners to look — and act alike! This is thanks to something called "mere exposure effect," a fancy term for our tendency to be drawn to things that remind us of ourselves, including, yes, our own reflection.

If you’re calm and cool, chances are your dog’s probably a Zen master. But if you’re the type who bounces off the walls with energy, your cat might just be training for the feline Olympics—or your rabbit could be perfecting its zoomies right alongside you.

Think you and your pets could be long-lost twins? Submit your best lookalike pictures to our photo-video upload site. Please be sure you have permission to use the photos you upload. We will feature the most uncanny human-pet pairs for the world (and maybe your dog’s Instagram followers) to admire!
