Video: This Beck project will amaze you

We've already heard a bit about Beck's cover/re-imagining of David Bowie's Sound and Vision, which was recorded as part of an advertising campaign for the Lincoln car company.

A music video for the track was just released, and it's like nothing we've seen before. Head to this site to start the 360-degree experience, in which cameras move as you move your head.

Yes, director Chris Milk highlights Beck's terrific performance by using webcams' facial tracking technology. That, combined with binaural sound, enables the viewer to feel like he/she is actually sitting in the theater. (Make sure you wear headphones while watching so you can get lost in the spectacular audio.)

For the immersive performance, Beck is joined by an orchestra, vocal group the Dap-Kings, members of the USC marching band, a theremin player, a musical saw player, a Peruvian charango group and others.

Wired has more technical details, if you're interested. The full video lasts about 10 minutes.
