Hear Brownout's cover of Black Sabbath's 'The Wizard'
Thousands of bands have covered Black Sabbath, but it's safe to say Brownout covers Sabbath in a pretty unique way. The eight-piece Austin band respects the metal icons' melodies and mega-sound ... but gives it a funky twist.
Brownout Presents Brown Sabbath reinterprets the classic tunes with a horn section, Latin percussion and some infectious attitude. Today I'm excited to premiere its cover of The Wizard, which is part of a new vinyl single out May 27.
Says Brownout member Adrian Quesada:
"The Wizard was the first song we jumped at when we brought the Sabbath idea to life. It fit Brownout like a glove. You can hear that energy and excitement on the recording."
Crank those speakers up to 11.
Look for a full-length Brownout Presents Brown Sabbath release June 24. Hear more at brownoutmusic.com and brownout.bandcamp.com, and follow the band on Twitter at @brownoutband.
