Early Buzz: John Waters, Dick Van Dyke and more
Happy Friday, everyone! I'm jazzed about the weekend, which will include many fun activities with my sweet Southern mother-in-law.
It's funny, no one visits us for months during the winter, but as soon as springtime hits, our couch is always occupied!
Headlines:
- Reading Rainbow update: $2.6 million and counting. LeVar Burton's reaction brought tears to my eyes.
- We have a so-so review of Halt and Catch Fire, which premieres Sunday on AMC. (I thought the pilot was OK, but you can't really judge a show on its first episode. I plan to stick with it.)
- The Wonder Years cast has reunited!
- We have a great story about a new photo exhibit of country music stars.
- What are the best sequels of all time?
- See the trailer for What If starring Daniel Radcliffe and Adam Driver. (Warning: It's one of those trailers that makes you feel like you've seen the whole movie.)
- Annabeth Gish will be on what I'm sure will be a very bloody final season of Sons of Anarchy.
- Hear the Old 97's on World Cafe.
- John Lennon's writings and drawings are being auctioned.
- Watch Nirvana and St. Vincent play Lithium at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
- Here's a fun video that offers science tricks for your ears.
- John Waters talks to GQ about hitchhiking.
- Ha, I hope Bruce Springsteen saw this sign.
- Dick Van Dyke is still a great dancer.
- And yes, I'd go to a GWAR-themed bar. (Thanks, BIG BUSINESS.)
