Early Buzz: Grohl, Herzog, Warhol and more headlines
Happy Monday! Ready to power through another week?
I did some catching up over the weekend; among other things, I watched the new WGN America drama Manhattan. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's worth a look; so far the show has exceeded my expectations, and the cast is pretty impressive. Two episodes are on Hulu.
This morning I'll be working on a story out of the office, so these headlines will have to suffice for a bit:
- We have an early look at the Tim Burton film Big Eyes.
- TheNew York Times has a piece about folks who dress up as characters in Times Square.
- Sinead O'Connor's video for Take Me to Church is just fantastic.
- See Ryan Adams perform a Grateful Dead song for MyMusicRx, a series that brings music to children hospitalized with cancer.
- Jack White's Lazaretto is the best-selling vinyl release in 20 years.
- Dave Grohl's HBO show premieres in October.
- I love that a scripted Russ Meyer/Roger Ebert movie is in the works.
- Sure, I'd watch Paul Feig's female-centric Ghostbusters reboot. Who wouldn't?
- I've seen a couple little free libraries in my neighborhood, and I love them.
- The Guardian has a great in-depth interview with Christina Hendricks.
- Vulture talks to Werner Herzog.
- BuzzFeed rounds up fun facts about the Lost Boys soundtrack.
- People revisits the (mostly A-list) cast of Parenthood, 25 years later.
- Hear some rare interviews with Andy Warhol.
- Sit back and enjoy some eight-bit '90s grunge. (Here are images of the bands.)
- And finally, William Shatner and NASA had an amusing Twitter exchange.
