If you thought that the arrival of autumn meant the end of prosecco season, think again. Yesterday, Viarae Prosecco, the award-nominated sparkling wine founded by writer, producer, actress and entrepreneur, Issa Rae, introduced its Prosecco Rosé—and it’s perfect for fall! The company says this new sparkling rosé “blends expressive red and citrus fruit character with the aromatic and refreshingly crisp profile of prosecco.”
Whether you’re hosting a girl’s night or gearing up for holiday celebrations, Viarae Prosecco Rosé is an ideal choice. It even pairs well with sushi or Mexican food, the brand notes, “thanks to the perfect match between the lively acidity of the wine and the spiciness of the Mexican cuisine.”
Issa Rae is also known for creating and starring in the Peabody award-winning, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated series, "Insecure”. To add another accolade to the list, Viarae has been nominated for Wine Enthusiast’s 2024 Wine Star Award for Innovator of the Year.
What is the flavor profile of Viarae Prosecco Rosé?
Grown in scenic vineyards under the glowing sun of the Northern Italian sky, Viarae offers aromas of citrus, apple and honeysuckle blossoms, accented by generous notes of ripe raspberry, strawberry and peach on the lively, effervescent palate. A hint of subtle sweetness on the finish adds a refreshing splash of brightness to this Prosecco Rosé.
Where is Viarae Prosecco Rosé made?
Viarae Prosecco Rosé is crafted from the traditional native Italian grape used in Prosecco, Glera, blended with a classic variety used to craft sparkling wine, Pinot Noir. The grapes were harvested in early September 2023. Once at the winery, they are crafted into Prosecco Rosé using time-honored winemaking practices. Grapes are crushed and then immediately pressed in gentle membrane presses, then juice is allowed to cold settle before initial fermentation in upright stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged on its lees for at least 60 days during secondary fermentation.
