How to watch Oscar-nominated film Wicked
Wicked is a stage-to-screen adaptation and prequel to the Wizard of Oz. The film covers the friendship between two witches, Elphaba and Glinda. Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda becomes Glinda the Good.
The musical is starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, international pop star Ariana Grande as Glinda, and Jeff Goldblum as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Wicked was released in November 2024, and has grossed over $700 million, according to Billboard, making it the highest grossing film adaptation of a Broadway Musical.

Wicked is a highly-rated stage-to-screen adaptation that is making it's mark on the awards world in Hollywood. Here's a look at how many major nominations the musical has received, and what it's won.
The musical was nominated for seven British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). It took home two of those awards for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
It also received 11 total nominations for Critics' Choice Awards, where it won three awards for Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Director.
Wicked also took home a Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, but was nominated for another three.
The film was also nominated for five Screen Actors Guild awards, but did not take one home.
