5 pairs of Dr. Martens boots and sandals that I would buy again

From platform boots to vegan leather staples, these are my top shopping recommendations.

I'm a boots person. I really thrive when I'm wearing chunky footwear and I always have. Before I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens boots, I went through dozens of cheap combat boots that just couldn't keep up.

It is no secret that I currently own 13 pairs of Dr. Martens shoes, including my first pair of DM sandals that I recently purchased. Don't get me wrong, I understand that investing in 13 pairs is excessive but I'm okay with it. The cult-favorite brand matches my personal aesthetic flawlessly and the shoes are truly unmatched as far as quality and durability.

My oldest Docs have taken me from the daily grind to countless music festivals and camping trips, and a few scuffs here and there just add to their charm.

I can't recommend Dr. Martens enough but I'll be totally honest about the one downside to buying your first pair of Docs: Breaking in a pair of Dr. Martens boots will probably involve a little blood. You need to wear the shoes and loosen up the leather a bit before they're actually comfortable. My tip: If you wear thick socks and keep a few blister bandages handy, you'll be fine.

That said, here are my five favorite pairs of Dr. Martens boots and sandals that I would buy again.
