What's the story behind Wallabee Day?
According to the brand, Wallabee Day has a pretty funny backstory. On April 26, 1971, a shipment of 4,176 pairs of Clarks Wallabees arrived at New York’s JFK Airport but customs officers mistakenly thought the shipment contained live Wallabies. The mix-up was quickly resolved when the boxes revealed Clarks' signature shoe as opposed to animals.
