Finding the best deals for your military discount isn't easy. A majority of retailers truly do offer discounts, and often at a better price than shopping at your nearest base. If you're looking for a major purchase, like the lumpy mattress you've been lugging from base to base for the last couple years, using your military discount is the way to go.

From 30% off viral mattress-in-a-box from Helix Sleep to $225 off a Saatva purchase of $1,000 or more, to 20% off at the massive retailer that is Mattress Firm, a verified military discount can go pretty far when it comes to improving your sleep and tossing out that mattress during your next PCS.

  • Awara Sleep has an advertised discount of $375 off through SheerID, but no way to verify it on the website. But, customer service WILL apply an additional 20% discount for verified military members if you message them through the live messaging service.
  • EgoHome offers an additional 5% off all orders, including their range of home essentials, including memory foam mattresses, toppers, bed frames, pillows, and sofas.
  • EightSleep offers 6% off their Pod 5 mattress to military personnel, students, healthcare workers and first responders.
  • EmmaSleep offers a 10% discount to service members and their families as a way to show gratitude for their service.
  • Essentia Mattress offers an additional $100 off on your purchase of an Essentia Lifestyle, Performance, or Grateful Bed Jr mattress to military, veterans, first responders, medical professionals and teachers. You do have to verify your ID on their site, through VerifyPass.
  • GhostBed offers a 25% off discount on your entire order for Active Duty, Retirees, Veterans, Military Spouses and Military Family Members. You have to verify your affiliation through ID.me.
  • Layla Sleep offers exclusive discounts that vary by product to active duty, veterans and their families as well as teachers, first responders and nurses.
  • Leesa offers a 'Hero Discount' of $50 off for military, educators, healthcare workers and first responders.
  • Nolah Sleep offers an additional 5% off to the military community, nurses & medical providers, first responders and teachers who verify their eligibility through ID.me.
  • PlushBeds offers 15% off discount through GovX, which includes offering the discount to military members, first responders and government employees.
  • Puffy Mattress offers up to $1,425 in savings to the military community. You have to verify your eligibility on their website, then you will receive a single-use code to use on your purchase.
  • WinkBeds offers an additional $50 discount to current and former military members, families, spouses & dependents and first responders who verify their eligibility through GovX.
  • Zinus offers exclusive discounts to both military members and their families and students who verify their eligibility through ID.me.

How to verify your military affiliation

Most brands use a third-party to confirm your military affiliation, like ID.me or GovX.com, both are secure sites. You will need your military Common Access Card for this, so be sure to have it handy. Here is how to verify your military affiliation and receive your discount:

  1. Go ID.me, GovX.com or SheerID and create an account.
  2. You will need to enter information to verify your military status, which may include service branch, date of service and .mil email address if applicable. If you are a military spouse, you may need to enter your spouse's information. You may also be required to upload photos of your CAC, a DD-214 or pay stubs.
  3. Submit your verification request, ID.me will review your information and provide a confirmation. Confirmation can be provided is as little as five minutes.
  4. Shop partner sites with a verified ID and receive your military discount!

Keep in mind, some websites may use a different website, but ID.me is one of the most common. Some sites will ask that you register for a one-time discount code and ask you to verify in other ways. Some discounts may not be available to spouses either, only the active duty, reservist or veteran member.
