What's in your cart? Cameron Brink shares game day must-haves ahead of her WNBA comeback
The 23-year-old hooper shares her favorites for tunnel looks, game day hydration and self-care.
Cameron Brink is back! The No. 2 draft pick in the 2024 WNBA draft is expected to make her season debut on Tuesday, July 29 as the Los Angeles Sparks take on the Las Vegas Aces. Brink suffered a torn ACL in the 15th game of her rookie season and has been out ever since.
Brink played college basketball at Stanford University, where she helped the team win a national championship in 2021. She was supposed to play in the 2024 Paris Olympics on the USA 3x3 basketball team before her injury sidelined her.
Her return couldn't be more timely for the Sparks, who struggled in 2024 and finished with an 8-32 record. But, the team has won seven of their last 10 games and is currently one game out from earning a spot in the playoffs.
As she prepares to return to the court, here's what Brink shared with the USA Today Shopping team on her game day must-haves:
What's in your cart? Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink shares her game day essentials
Hit your protein goals with Optimum Nutrition
Prep and recovery go hand-in-hand, especially for an athlete recovering from a major injury. For Brink, hitting her protein goals is an important step in her routine and she reaches for this double rich chocolate flavor from Optimum Nutrition.
“On game days, hitting my protein goals isn’t just important - it’s essential," Brink said. "It’s a key part of my post-game routine to support muscle recovery. I love the Double Rich Chocolate flavor!”
A cool game day outfit from Revolve
“Planning my game day tunnel outfits is one of my favorite things to do," Brink said. "It's my chance to show that athletes can turn heads with their style and feel confident doing it."
Arrivals at a WNBA game look more and more like a catwalk everyday, and I'm not complaining. Brink has been among the best dressed since the day she was drafted. Her outfits make headlines, like the bodycon Helsa Josephine dress that she wore to an event in New York City and since sold out on Revolve.
"When it comes to curating those looks, Revolve is always my first stop," said the 6-foot-4 forward. "I’m especially loving brands like Helsa and The Attico right now - they strike that perfect balance between bold fashion and all-day comfort.”
Nothing like a little ice to elevate a tunnel fit
“Fashion is a true passion of mine, so I love stepping out each week in a fresh, accessorized look," Brink said. "Jewelry can elevate any outfit and Gorjana is my go-to."
The 23-year-old hooper loves a layered jewelry look, from multiple ear piercings to layered necklaces and stacked bracelets, they're all part of her regular looks. When you add in the sustainability of a lab-grown diamond, it's a perfect fit.
"Lately, I’ve been obsessed with their lab-grown diamond collection - it's chic, sustainable and perfect for stacking," Brink said. "Whether it's bracelets, necklaces or earrings, their pieces are the finishing touch to every tunnel fit."
Hydration meets fiber with Olipop
“Hydration is always a focus for me – especially on game days," Brink said. "Sometimes, I need to spice up my options!"
One of my favorite picks from the WNBA star, because it's just so relatable. We all know water is important, but sometimes you just need options and cracking open a fizzy soda that won't wreck your health and fitness goals is a win.
"I love Olipop for a healthy, flavorful hydration fix," Brink said. "My favorite flavor is watermelon lime!”
I haven't tried the watermelon lime soda yet, but if it's as good as the other Olipop flavors, sign me up.
New Balance for on and off the court style
“New Balance is my favorite sneaker brand, on and off the court! I’m always sporting my TWO WXY sneakers on the court," Brink said.
The TWO WXY's have such a sleek look, and obvious comfort if they're Brink's choice of shoe to power her everyday play. But, she also loves New Balance for her days off.
"I love the 740’s for my days off – with a touch of athletic retro and modern style, they easily pair with sweats, shorts or denim.”
Sweat-proof game day makeup thanks to Urban Decay
“The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is my trusted final step in my getting ready routine on game day.," Brink said.
If you love makeup (or even just tolerate it), you've probably tested this setting spray, it's a cult-favorite for a reason. But, knowing that it locks in makeup for athletes who would otherwise sweat off their favorite looks? Iconic.
"I’ve always played with makeup on, just like my tunnel fits, it’s a form of self-expression and helps me feel confident," Brink said. "My mom is a huge beauty queen, and she taught me to always take pride in my appearance. If you look good, you feel good, and you play good.”
Her mom is a beauty queen? I'll take "Things that just make sense for 100, Alex." Beauty aside, Brink is a huge supporter of self-care.
"After a long day on the court, there’s nothing better than taking a moment for self-care."
She mentioned her nighttime skincare routine includes using a light therapy face mask from Skinletics, which is made by athletes for athletes and helps her wind down.
