Taylor Swift has officially entered her showgirl (and engagement) era—and with that comes rhinestones, feathers and one very viral orange lipstick.
On Tuesday, the pop icon—alongside her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce—took to Instagram to announce their engagement. The couple posted photos of the proposal surrounded by a giant floral arrangement. And while Swift's makeup certainly wasn't the focal point of the Instagram dump (her massive engagement ring stole the show), some fans speculated that she was quietly paying homage to her upcoming, orange-doused musical era with a familiar orange lipstick.
In the shots of her embracing Kelce, Swift's lips looked slightly peachy, with a subtle orange tint that's a noticeable departure from her signature red lip. Could it be her go-to Nars Morocco lipstick?
While it's hard to know for sure, this orange-centric homage comes on the heels of her appearance on the "New Heights" podcast, which is co-hosted by Swift's boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, former Eagles player Jason Kelce.
On the podcast, Swift unveiled the cover for "The Life of a Showgirl" and announced that her new album will be released on Oct. 3. ❤️🔥 Swift also described the album's theme as "everything that was going on behind the curtain" and discussed the significance of the color orange for the album.
"It (orange) feels like energetically how my life has felt," Swift said. "And this album is about what was going on behind-the-scenes in my inner life during this (Eras) tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant."
