Amazon’s second major shopping event of the year, Prime Big Deal Days (also known as October Prime Day), is officially happening Tuesday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 8. This 48-hour fall sale is exclusive to Prime members and offers some of the best prices of the year on tech, toys, travel essentials, fashion and more.
Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s fall shopping event designed to kick off the holiday shopping season. Many deals won’t return until late November so this can be your first chance to grab holiday gifts before the chaos of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping begins.
The members-only sale is typically packed with thousands of deals across every category, from Apple devices and top-tier Bissell vacuums to cozy fall finds and giftable beauty sets.
Ahead of the October sale, we've highlighted the most important shopping tips and early deals so you can save big.

- Start time: Tuesday, October 7 at 12:01am PT / 3:01am ET
- End time: Wednesday, October 8 at 11:59pm PT / Thursday, October 9 at 2:59am ET
How to shop Prime Big Deal days
1. Become a Prime member
You must be a Prime member to access most deals. Sign up for a one-week trial of Amazon Prime for just $1.99 or explore discounted memberships for young adults and qualifying government aid recipients.
- Eligible young adults can get a six-month Amazon Prime for Young Adults membership at zero cost and save 50% after that with a discounted fee of $7.49 per month or $69 annually.
- Prime Access costs $3.50 per month for the first three months for qualifying EBT and Medicaid recipients, and $6.99 per month after that.
2. Create an Amazon Wishlist
Add items to your Amazon Wishlist now to track price drops and get notified when deals go live.
3. Use Alexa and Amazon’s AI tools
Set deal alerts with Alexa or use Amazon’s new AI shopping assistant, Rufus, to find gifts, compare products and plan purchases.
4. Shop early Amazon Prime deals
