L.L. Bean is opening 8 new stores in 2026. See where.

L.L. Bean is expanding its footprint in 2026, opening its first locations in Alabama and Tennessee.
L.L. Bean announced Dec. 9 that it will open eight new locations in 2026, in addition to reopening its flagship location in Freeport, Maine.
Under renovation since January 2023, the flagship L.L. Bean store will reopen fully in fall 2026, according to a news release. The newly designed store will include a larger, multi-tier trout pond and stream tank, expanded in-store cafe, children's area inspired by summer camps in Maine and a new customization area where customers can personalize L.L. Bean merchandise, the news release says.
The first L.L. Bean location opened above a post office along Freeport's Main Street in 1917. Though the original building is no longer, the flagship store is located in the same place, according to the L.L. Bean website.
The 2026 store openings come after L.L. Bean opened seven new stores this year, including its first location in Florida.
