Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall ballistically charges refs in exhibition

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall was in livid, March Madness form on Tuesday when he charged toward two officials in an exhibition game between the Shockers and McGill University at Montreal.

After Marshall earned his second technical foul and got ejected, shouting ensued before Marshall darted towards the referees. A cellphone video revealed Marshall being restrained by his players and coaching staff.

"There were players with stitches, concussions, not keeping score accurately, a bloodbath, then touch fouls on us," Marshall told ESPN. "I'm not happy nor proud of the reaction but when is enough, enough? I want my players to know I've got their back. Once ejected, I wanted the ref to know exactly my impression of his work."

After Marshall was escorted off the court to boos from the crowd, the Shockers closed the exhibition contest on a 21-11 run to secure a 77-71 victory.

Asked if he went too far, Marshall toldThe Wichita Eagle, "Perhaps. I wasn't going to do anything physical, but I wanted to make sure they understood what I felt was happening was incorrect and wrong."
