The Rock once considered career move to UFC

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the highest-paid actor in the world this past year, said he considered an Ultimate Fighting Championship career 10 years ago when he was still transitioning out of his WWE persona and while his acting career had yet to take off.

Johnson tweeted on Sunday that his goal was to train for two years with renowned MMA trainer Greg Jackson as his coach, but “smartened up ‘cause I prefer my jaw intact.”

Johnson, in an interview with UFC Unfiltered, further explained how close he was to making the move.

He said: “There was a time there where I thought, ‘Man, I achieved everything I wanted to achieve in WWE, my movie career is floundering a little bit. What do I do? I was relatively still young; I think I was 34. I thought, ‘Oh, well maybe UFC. Maybe I do something like that.’”
