Tim Tebow is most known as the former Heisman-winning quarterback from Florida who briefly played in the NFL. He recently finished his first full season of pro baseball in the Mets’ minor-league system, drawing a fanbase to minor-league games reminiscent of Michael Jordan in the '90s.
Add volunteer/humanitarian to Tebow's growing resume.
Tebow -- in an effort to assist victims and evacuees from Hurricane Irma in Florida -- visited a special-needs shelter on Monday in Jacksonville, where he bonded with a World War II veteran.
The man played a song on the harmonica for Tebow, who posted a video praising the vet's "spirit" through adversity.
Tebow later posed for a photo with Red Cross workers at the shelter.
