Truck owned by DeSean Jackson involved in hit-and-run accident

A truck registered to Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver DeSean Jackson was impounded by police as part of a hit-and-run investigation after the vehicle was found abandoned on Sunday, according to a statement from the Tampa Bay Police Department obtained by Paste BN Sports.
Tampa police responded to a single-car accident near International Plaza and Bay Street, a high-end mall, at 8:28 p.m. local time on Sunday. According to the statement from police, the truck appeared to have struck a tree and “the driver fled the scene.” Officers found 6.3 grams of marijuana along with two .38 caliber hollow point bullets, ammunition that is legal to purchase in Florida.
Jackson’s agent, Denise White, said in an email to Paste BN Sports that a friend of Jackson’s had borrowed the 2016 Chevy Silverado while Jackson was out of town “none of what was in the car” belonged to Jackson.
“He’s dealing with the person that was using it without his knowledge privately,” White said. “The incident is being handled.”

Jackson “responded to the scene” when contacted by police, although the pickup was impounded by police when officers were unable to determine who was at the wheel.
“At this time, no arrests have been made and it is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash,” Tampa police said in the statement. “The investigation is ongoing.”
NFL Network was the first media outlet to report the incident.
"We are aware of a one-car accident involving a vehicle registered to DeSean Jackson on the night of Dec. 24,” the Buccaneers said in a statement. “Our understanding is that DeSean has been in contact with authorities and is cooperating with the investigation."
