Rutgers touchdown celebration ends with quarterback being punched in face
It's doubtful Boston College defenders will hit Rutgers quarterback Art Sitkowski harder than Sitkowski's own offensive lineman Mike Maietti hit him after the Scarlet Knights scored a touchdown in the first quarter Saturday.
After Sitkowski connected with Raheem Blackshear on an 74-yard scoring pass, his center Maietti decided to celebrate with him.
First, Maietti lifted him up in what is your typical post-touchdown encounter. Then it looked like Maietti was trying to give him an "attaboy" tap on his shoulder pads." Instead, Sitkowski moved and Maietti accidentally delivered a punch to his face.
Maietti is listed at 292 pounds, but Sitkowski seemed fine.
That was important because Rutgers trailed Boston College 17-13 at the half. Sitkowski has thrown for 206 yards.
