Steve Levy, Greg McElroy will lead ESPN's XFL broadcast team
Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy and longtime ESPN commentator Steve Levy will head ESPN's XFL broadcast team, the network announced on Wednesday.
The pair will call the league's first game on Feb. 8 in a matchup between the Seattle Dragons and Washington DC Defenders, as well as the West Division's final and the league's title game. They'll regularly call the league's premier games on Saturday, shown on parent company ABC.
Joining McElroy and Levy outside the booth will be Tom Luginbill as a field analyst and Dianna Russini as a sideline reporter.
Luginbill worked for the XFL during its short-lived inaugural season in 2001 as a quarterbacks coach for the champion Los Angeles Xtreme.
For Sunday games, Tom Hart will have play-by-play duties while former NFL receiver Joey Galloway and NFL punter Pat McAfee will fill roles as analysts.
