Greenville, North Carolina enters its fifth straight year of hosting the Little League Softball World Series when the event takes over Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park from August 3-10, 2025.

And due to a recent contract extension between Little League International and the City of Greenville, the iconic softball event will remain there through at least 2027. So youth softball players from around the world can set their final destination each summer at a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

For the 12 teams (eight from the United States) competing for the 2025 title, the dream of hoisting the Little League Softball World Series championship banner will come on Sunday, August 10.

Here’s everything to know about the teams in the 2025 Little League Softball World Series:

2025 LLSWS purple bracket teams

West Suburban Little League — When the squad from Johnstown, Pennsylvania arrives in the Tar Heel state, they’ll be making history as the first softball team from West Suburban Little League to make it to the legendary tournament. Regardless of what happens in North Carolina, West Suburban LL punched its ticket to the LLSWS by getting the Mid-Atlantic title via a walk-off win. Only one team from Pennsylvania has previously won the LLSWS and that was Shippensburg (Pa.) Little League in 1978.

Guilford Little League – The state of Connecticut has taken over the New England Regional and Guilford (CT) Little League just extended that show of force with a no-hitter in this year’s championship game. Guilford becomes the third team from the state in the last four years to not only win the regional but go on and represent the state in the LLSWS. A team from Connecticut has never won the LLSWS.

Mill Creek Little League – The 12U All-Stars from Mill Creek, Washington are making their first appearance in the LLSWS. They are the Northwest Region champions after an extra-innings win in the regional championship game this year. A team from Washington has never won the LLSWS.

Lake Mary Little League – If the name Lake Mary Little League sounds familiar – it should − because the baseball 12U All-Stars from Florida won the 2024 Little League World Series with a 2-1 extra-innings victory over Chinese Taipei in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The 12U softball All-Stars from the same little league are the Southeast Region champions and are looking to make history themselves after qualifying for the LLSWS for the first time. The last team from Florida to win the LLSWS (Countryside Little League, Clearwater, Florida) did it in 1996.

Tulsa National Little League – The players from Tulsa (Oklahoma) National Little League might be the most determined group competing this year. They lost the first game of the Southwest Region tournament and then rattled off four straight wins to secure a spot in the LLSWS. Tulsa National is aiming to become the first team from Oklahoma to win the LLSWS since Green County Little League (Muskogee, Oklahoma) did it in 2021.

Westchester-Del Rey Little League – A California team hasn’t won the LLSWS since 1990. So, if this Los Angeles area squad can win it all, it would be the first title for Westchester-Del Rey Little League, which will represent the West Region this year.

Previously, the Latin America Region has participated in the LLSWS dating back to 1996, with teams from Puerto Rico (16), Mexico (6), Curacao (3), and Aruba (1) earning the honors, Little League International said.

Pitt County Girls Softball Little League – The 12U softball All-Stars from Pitt County Girls Softball Little League (Winterville, N.C.) are trying to win the LLSWS for the second straight year. According to Little League International, the team’s “advancement to the World Series through direct entry comes as part of the LLSWS expansion to 12 teams, now in its fourth year of participation involving international teams, sending the North Carolina state champion as the host team for the event.”
