Hims & Hers Super Bowl commercial: Ad draws ire from drug industry

Hims & Hers makes its Super Bowl commercial debut in 2025 with a spot for the telehealth company's weight loss medications.

Set to the "This Is America" by Childish Gambino (Donald Glover), the commercial calls out weight loss prescriptions and the weight-loss industry that "feeds on our failure."

Drug industry groups took issue with the ad in the days leading up to the Super Bowl, asking the Food and Drug Administration to "take action" and "protect Americans from misleading markets."

In a statement, Hims & Hers said the drug industry is trying to cancel an ad that "directly calls out how they are part of a system that fails to prioritize the health of Americans. The system is broken, and this is just another example of how they don’t want Americans to know they have options."
