'Appreciate the new kicks': Caitlin Clark hooks up Butler basketball with new Nikes

Butler basketball has one of the best shoe connections going.

The Bulldogs took to social media Tuesday to thank Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark for her donation of shoes.

Clark already has a signature shoe from Nike, and a connection to Butler.

Her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, is an assistant coach. They met when both played basketball at Iowa.

One of McCaffery's brothers, Patrick, played for the Bulldogs last season. Another, Jack, is a Bulldogs incoming freshman.

Their father, Fran McCaffery, coached Iowa's men's team for 15 seasons before being let go after the 2024-25. He has since been hired to coach Penn of the Ivy League.
