Gennady Golovkin's star shines brighter every time he fights

The 33-year-old Kazakh scored his 20th consecutive stoppage vs. Willie Monroe Jr. on Saturday, the third-most viewed fight on HBO this year, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The WBA middleweight championship bout delivered 1,338,000 viewers, a 3% improvement over his last prime-time outing on the network, an Oct. 2014 win vs. Marco Antonio Rubio.

Golovkin-Monroe peaked at 1,474,000 viewers, while the WBC flyweight title bout between Roman Gonzalez and Edgar Sosa brought in an audience of 961,000, peaking at 1,018,000.

GGG has now fought on HBO eight times since his debut on the network vs. Gregorz Proska in September 2012.

The highest-rated fight on HBO in 2015 remains Canelo Alvarez's win over James Kirkland on May 9.
