Boxcino finalists Brandon Adams, John Thompson end Friday Night Fights series

Brandon Adams suffered his first career loss in last year's Boxcino middleweight finals, falling to Willie Monroe Jr. in a close decision.

Instead of moving on, Adams (17-1, 12 KOs) moved down a weight class and made it to the Boxcino finals again, this time at super welterweight, facing John Thompson (16-1, 5 KOs) in a 10-round championship fight on the final edition of Friday Night Fights tonight (ESPN2, 10 p.m. ET).

It will be a bi-coastal battle at Omega Products Outdoor Arena in Corona, Calif., with Adams hailing from Los Angeles and Thompson from Newark, N.J. The fight is co-promoted by Thompson Boxing and Banner.

"I'm still in shape from my last fight and I'm coming to get what is mine," Adams said. "I'm going to put on a performance that will make everyone proud."

In the co-feature, Donovan Dennis (14-2, 11 KOs) of Cleveland takes on Andrey Fedosov (27-3, 22 KOs) of Russia in a 10-round battle to determine the Boxcino 2015 heavyweight champion. Both knocked out their opponents in the first two rounds

"I've been in Los Angeles for training camp, getting good sparring," Dennis said. "I know Andrey will be ready, and so will I."

ESPN's Friday Night Fights series ends after 17 years. Starting July 11, ESPN will begin broadcasting monthly Premier Boxing Champions cards.
