Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. training with Robert Garcia; next bout vs. Marcos Reyes on July 18?

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is changing trainers yet again.

Following a stoppage loss to Andzej Fonfara under the guidance of Joe Goosen, Chavez announced on Twitter that Robert Garcia will be coaching him for his next fight.

That bout could take place against journeyman Marcos Reyes, Chavez told ESPN Deportes on Saturday. It could happen July 18 in Texas, and it's clearly a fight designed to get Chavez (48-2-1, 32 KOs) back in the win column following a brutal defeat.

The son of a Mexican legend's last bout was at light heavyweight, but Chavez will now campaign at super middleweight. There were negotiations for the 29-year-old to fight Matthew Macklin, but the Irishman told Paste BN Sports he didn't want to fight above 164 pounds. He's now in talks to face Danny Jacobs for a middleweight title.

Reyes (33-2, 24 KOs) dropped a majority decision to Abie Hahn last year and presents little threat to Chavez. Al Haymon manages the former middleweight champ, so the bout would likely be televised as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series.

Garcia coaches the likes of Marcos Maidana, Brandon Rios and Mikey Garcia (when he's fighting) at his Oxnard, Calif., boxing club, and was the Boxing Writers Association of America's 2012 Trainer of the Year. Freddie Roach has also trained Chavez in the past.
