Former middleweight boxing champ Jermain Taylor arrested in Arkansas after domestic dispute

Former boxer Jermain Taylor was arrested early Tuesday morning after police in Arkansas responded to a domestic disturbance, the latest in a string of legal trouble for the retired middleweight champ.
Taylor, 38, faces three charges, including a felony charge of terrorist threats after a Maumelle (Ark.) police officer wrote in a report obtained by Paste BN Sports that Taylor "chased (the alleged victim) down the street stating that he would to kill her." Taylor was also arrested on suspicion of battery and interfering with the emergency communication, both misdemeanors.
Taylor's girlfriend said Taylor attacked her during an argument and he tried to damage her cell phone so she could not call 911, according to news release. Taylor also allegedly bit the woman several times, which an officer noted were visible after the incident.
The alleged victim pepper sprayed Taylor after he prevented her exit from the home.
Taylor, who resides in Maumelle, was released later Tuesday.
Taylor was charged with aggravated assault, among other charges, in 2015 after a man reported to police that Taylor had shot him and then pointed the gun at his wife and children in at a Martin Luther King Jr. parade in Little Rock. In 2014, he was arrested on first-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault after allegedly shooting his cousin.
Taylor managed to avoid prison time as a judge suspended his 19-year sentence last year, contingent on Taylor staying out of trouble, in a sentence issued last year.
