Rival Nate Diaz takes in Conor McGregor's TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather
LAS VEGAS — The last man to beat Conor McGregor before Floyd Mayweather stopped the Irishman on Saturday night was also at T-Mobile Arena.
That’s right, Nate Diaz, the mixed martial arts fighter who defeated McGregor by submission on March 3, 2016 at UFC 196.
Of Mayweather’s victory Saturday that culminated with a 10th-round technical knockout of McGregor, Diaz said, “I think it went how I thought it was going to go.”

“Gotta go, gotta go,’’ Diaz said with a slight grin. “No comment.’’
McGregor avenged his defeat against Diaz with a five-round decision on Aug. 20, 2016 and Diaz has not fought since.
