Ian Clark is Belmont basketball's first NCAA era player to have jersey number retired

Ian Clark will have his Belmont basketball jersey No. 21 retired later this season.
Clark, a guard from Memphis who played at Belmont from 2009-13, will become the third Bruins player to have his jersey retired joining Joe Behling (No. 54) and Robert Barnes (No. 54) and the first in the program's 35-year NCAA Division I era.
The ceremony will take place Feb. 19 during halftime of the Bruins' game against Northern Iowa at Curb Event Center.
Clark was the Ohio Valley Conference co-player of the year in 2013 and a two-time Atlantic Sun Conference performer (2011, 2012). He also made the Associated Press All-America honorable mention list in 2013.

As a senior, Clark ranked among the NCAA leaders in 3-point field goal percentage and 3-point field goals per game. He was a candidate for the Naismith and Lou Henson national player of the year awards and finished third in the national 3-point championships during Final Four weekend. Clark led Belmont to four consecutive regular season conference championships, three conference tournament championships, and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
He went on to play six seasons in the NBA.
Clark was part of the Golden State Warriors' team that set an NBA record with 73 regular season wins in 2016. The following season Clark helped lead the Warriors to the 2017 NBA Championship in five games over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Clark ended his NBA career in 2019 after playing two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans. He played in a total of 330 NBA games and 41 playoff games.
