Bazzana, also considered one of the top contenders to be the No. 1 pick of the 2024 MLB Draft, is one of three finalists for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the best amateur player in the nation. Bazzana is joined by Georgia's Charlie Condon and Arkansas' Hagen Smith for the honor.
The Sydney, Australia, native is sporting a ridiculous .415 batting average and 28 home runs this season, also going 4 for 11 at the plate with two home runs and two singles in the Corvallis Regional.

Who is Travis Bazzana?
Bazzana is the starting second baseman for Oregon State baseball, ranking fifth nationally in batting average (.415).
The left-handed hitter from Sydney, Australia, is considered one of the top prospects in the 2024 MLB Draft and is in play for the No. 1 overall pick.
The 6-foot infielder was tabbed as a second- or third-team All-American by multiple outlets in 2023 and has only built on his elite sophomore season. The 2024 Pac-12 Player of the Year was also named a first-team freshman All-American in 2022 after starting all of Oregon State's 63 games.
Bazzana is ranked the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 MLB Draft, according to MLB Pipeline, ahead of standout SEC sluggers like Condon and Florida's Jac Caglianone. The 21-year-old prospect raised eyebrows after winning the battle title and MVP of the Cape Cod League, which is recognized as the premier college baseball summer league.
According to MLB Pipeline, some scouts are worried about where Bazzana fits defensively, while others believe he will be good enough at second base professionally. While a primary second baseman isn't typically viewed as a top-tier draft prospect, scouts suggest his bat is so polished that he will be one of the most sought-after players in 2024.
Bazzana also saw a large boost to his power numbers in 2024, jumping from 11 home runs last season to 28 this season.
