Texas baseball earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA tournament on Monday after a strong season under first-year coach Jim Schlossnagle.

The Longhorns (42-12, 22-8 SEC) were the No. 1 seed of the SEC baseball tournament, but fell in the quarterfinals to Tennessee, who secured the No. 14 national seed. Texas was considered the favorite to be the No. 1 overall seed heading into the conference championship, until Vanderbilt won the title.

The Longhorns last made the College World Series in 2022. They also last made the super regionals in 2023, falling to Stanford on the road. Texas is lined up with the winner of the Los Angeles Regional, hosted by No. 15 UCLA.
