Texas baseball to host NCAA Regional at UFCU Disch-Falk Field: Schedule, tickets

For the first time since 2022, the road to Omaha will begin at home for Texas baseball.
On Sunday, the Longhorns were announced as one of the 16 teams that received an invitation to host a regional in the NCAA baseball tournament. It is the 38th time in program history that Texas, one of the sport's most storied programs, is hosting a regional.
The Longhorns' official national seeding for the NCAA Tournament wasn't announced until Monday during the NCAA bracket reveal show, where they were tabbed with the No. 2 overall seed in the 64-team bracket. Texas will host UTSA, Kansas State and Houston Christian at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
The Longhorns will face Houston Christian in the opening game of the Austin Regional on May 30 at 2 p.m. ET.
Texas enters its first postseason under Jim Schlossnagle with a 42-12 overall record. The Longhorns are looking to end a four-year drought of not appearing in the College World Series.

Texas baseball regional host history
As noted by the Longhorns' Sports Information Department, Texas is 87-22 (.798) in the regional round of the NCAA baseball tournament when it is in Austin.
The 2025 NCAA baseball tournament marks the first time that the Longhorns are hosting a regional since 2022. Texas, the No. 9 national seed that season, rolled through the Austin Regional in 2022 with two commanding wins over Air Force and a 5-2 win over Louisiana Tech.

Texas has been one of the better teams in the country all season, highlighted by their 42-12 overall record and ranking No. 4 in the RPI rankings.
Entering Monday's selection show, Texas has the third most Quad 1 wins (16) in the country among all Division I programs, according to Warren Nolan Baseball.
The Longhorns additionally rolled through their first regular season in the SEC with a 22-8 record in conference play. After being picked to finish eighth in the SEC preseason poll, Texas became the first team to win the conference's regular season title in its first season since the SEC's inaugural campaign in 1933.
