Kade Anderson was exactly as advertised in LSU baseball's 4-1 opening win against No. 3 Arkansas at the College World Series.

The Tigers' southpaw put together an absolute gem of an outing vs. the Razorbacks at Charles Schwab Field Omaha on June 14, as he went seven innings and struck out seven hitters while only giving up one run on three hits.

He exited in the bottom of the eighth inning after giving up a lead single into right field by Arkansas on his 100th pitch of the evening. The longtime LSU baseball fan who dreamed of wearing purple and gold delivered LSU its fourth win against Arkansas in the CWS, improving the Tigers' record against the Razorbacks in Omaha to 4-0.

The 6-foot-2 left-hander's off-speed pitches were extra sharp throughout the night. One example of this came in the fifth inning when he got Brent Iredale to chase a pitch in the dirt for the final out of the inning. An inning before that, Anderson worked a strikeout and a 5-4-3 double play to keep LSU's lead at 3-0 after giving up his first hit of the night.

The projected top-five draft pick in the 2025 MLB Draft was awarded his 11th win of the season for his efforts on the night, which is now tied for the fourth-most wins by a Division I pitcher this season. Anderson's seven punchouts on the night put him over Tennessee pitcher Liam Doyle as the Division I leader in strikeouts this season, per LSU.

LSU will now have a day off before resuming action in Omaha in the winner's bracket of Bracket 2 play on June 16 at 6 p.m. ET against No. 15 UCLA, which beat Murray State earlier in the day.
