Coastal Carolina baseball was the first to clinch a spot in the 2025 College World Series championship series. LSU became the second a few hours later.
The Chanticleers, who have won 26 in a row, will play No. 6 LSU, starting June 21 in a best-of-three-game series to determine the national champion. Coastal Carolina defeated Louisville 11-3 on June 18 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
LSU was down 5-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning vs. Arkansas, but came back before Jared Jones walked it off to win 6-5.
Coastal Carolina won the national championship in 2016 and is led by first-year coach Kevin Schnall. The Chanticleers will be the only program in the nation that can stop the SEC from winning a sixth consecutive national championship.

Coastal Carolina used a six-run first inning to move to 3-0 at the CWS and clinch a spot in the championship series. It's the first trip to the championship series for the Chanticleers since they won it all in 2016 and the second in program history.
LSU defeated Arkansas 6-5 on Wednesday, June 18, in walk-off fashion following Jared Jones' single to win the game. The national championship berth is the Tigers' second appearance in three years, with LSU winning the national title in 2023.
