2 more games added completes Butler basketball's nonconference schedule for 2025-26 season

- The Bulldogs added home games against low-major opponents to complete their nonconference schedule.
- A pair of exhibitions against in-state foes will take place at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
INDIANAPOLIS — Butler basketball's 2025-26 nonconference schedule is complete with the announcement of two more games.
The Bulldogs will host former Horizon League foe Wright State on Nov. 28 and wrap up nonconference play against NJIT on Dec. 22. Both games will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Times and TV assignments have not yet been announced.
Wright State finished 15-18 under first-year coach Clint Sargent. Butler transfer, former Purdue Fort Wayne guard Jalen Jackson is very familiar with Wright State, averaging 25 points against the Raiders over two games last season. NJIT was 6-25 and finished last in the American East Conference.
Neither game will help Butler's strength of schedule much. Wright State will be the Dawgs' first game back from the Greenbrier Tip-Off. NJIT provides what should be a tune-up for Big East play.
Butler basketball opponents at Greenbrier Tip-Off
Butler is heading to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for their early season multi-team event. The Dawgs will play South Carolina and Virginia there and avoid a second game against Northwestern, which Butler will play in the Indy Classic on Dec. 20 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Other nonconference games include Southern Indiana on Nov. 5, IU Indy and first-year coach Ben Howlett on Nov. 8 and Chicago State on Nov. 11 all at Hinkle Fieldhouse to open the season. Butler then will conclude its home-and-home series with SMU on Nov. 15 before heading to the two-game event Nov. 21 and 23.
The Bulldogs will return home to play Eastern Michigan on Dec. 2.
Butler basketball preseason games
Two open preseason exhibitions were scheduled against in-state opponents. Another two-year agreement was scheduled with Notre Dame and then Indiana State was added. Former Butler player Matthew Graves is in his second season leading the Sycamores.
