Several of the highest-rated squads in the sport still have their championship dreams intact. No. 1 Cornell, No. 2 Maryland, No. 3 Princeton, No. 5 Penn State and No. 6 Syracuse all still remain in the field. Also alive is Notre Dame, the two-time reigning national champion, which advanced to the quarterfinals after upending No. 4 national seed Ohio State.

The quarterfinal games will be split across two different sites and two different days. Two of the matchups — Cornell vs. Richmond and Princeton vs. Syracuse — will take place at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York on May 17 while the other two — Maryland vs. Georgetown and Notre Dame vs. Penn State — will be held on the campus of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on May 18.

Five of the remaining programs — Maryland, Syracuse, Princeton, Cornell and Notre Dame — have won at least one national championship in their respective histories.
