Allstate names college football's 2013 Good Works Team
Allstate Insurance Company, along with the American Football Coaches Association, revealed their 22-player roster for the 2013 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. The awards recognize players who have done "good works" in their communities, and being named to the team is considered one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in collegiate athletics.
The 22-man roster was voted on by a panel of former Good Works Team members and esteemed college football media from a record 150 nominations. It is comprised of 11 Football Bowl Subdivision players and 11 players from the Football Championship Subdivision, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
"As fans of college football, Allstate continues to be inspired by the remarkable performances that take place on the field," Cynthia Whitfield, field senior vice president of Allstate's Southern region and a member of the 2013 voting panel, said, "but equally inspiring are the acts of service that have earned these 22 players a spot on the 2013 AFCA Good Works Team."
