Big 12 softball tournament bracket: TV schedule, seeds, game times for 2025 championship
Last season, the Big 12 featured the two best softball teams in the country, with longtime rivals Oklahoma and Texas meeting in the conference championship game, earning the top two seeds to the NCAA tournament and squaring off in the championship series of the Women's College World Series. The 2024 softball season ended with Patty Gasso's Sooners taking home their fourth-consecutive national title.
This year, with the Sooners and Longhorns in the SEC, a new team will get the opportunity to claim its place atop the Big 12 conference.
The 2025 Big 12 softball tournament will get underway this week, a four-day event in Oklahoma City that will end with one fortunate team raising a trophy and earning an automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
Texas Tech enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed after going 20-4 in conference play, a vast improvement over its 8-16 mark from lasts season. The Red Raiders, the No. 11 team in the latest USA Softball poll, are led by star pitcher NiJaree Canady — a Stanford transfer and a 2024 All-American who has a 23-5 record and 0.89 ERA this season.
Once in Oklahoma City, they'll have a handful of viable challengers to the Big 12 throne. No. 2 seed Arizona is 43-10 overall and heads into the postseason with six wins in its past seven games. No. 4 seed Oklahoma State, too, has won six of its past seven and managed to take one game in a three-game series at Texas Tech in early March, while Iowa State clinched the No. 3 seed after sweeping Baylor over the weekend.
