Oklahoma vs. Texas A&M SEC softball championship canceled due to weather
The 2025 SEC softball championship was set to be an electric matchup between No. 1 and No. 2 in the ESPN/USA Softball rankings. However, inclement weather had other plans.
The championship game was canceled on Saturday due to weather, with Oklahoma and Texas A&M being declared as co-champions of the conference tournament. The Sooners take the automatic bid due to winning the regular season championship, although it doesn't quite matter as the two programs are two of the top contenders for the No. 1 overall seed when the bracket is released Sunday.
Oklahoma came back from a 6-1 deficit against Arkansas on Friday, with freshman shortstop Gabbie Garcia hitting a walk-off home run to put the Sooners in the championship game. Texas A&M, meanwhile, dominated Texas with a 14-2 run-rule to advance.
Unfortunately, an outright champion of the SEC tournament wasn't crowned on Saturday, but both teams have resumes deserving of the nation's top seed in the NCAA softball tournament.

Due to inclement weather, the SEC softball championship is canceled, with Oklahoma and Texas A&M being named co-champions of the tournament. Per SEC rules, the Sooners technically earn the conference's automatic NCAA tournament bid due to winning the regular season, although both teams are locks to host regionals.
