The road to the Greatest Show on Dirt and Oklahoma City is officially underway.
After the selection show on Sunday, the field of 64 softball teams is officially set. Texas A&M was officially named the No. 1 overall seed while Oklahoma was set at No. 2.
Sunday's selection show also started the clock on a near four-week journey that comes with one shared goal by all 64 teams in the field: aiming to be the last remaining team in the field that dog piles around the pitcher's mound during the first week of June at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.

When does the NCAA Softball Tournament start in 2025?

The 2025 NCAA Softball Tournament gets started on Friday, May 16, with the regional round of the tournament, which is a double-elimination format. The best-of-three super regional round of the tournament will take place from Thursday, May 22 through Sunday, May 25.
The WCWS in Oklahoma City will start on Thursday, May 29 at Devon Park with a quadruple header of games.

2025 NCAA Softball Tournament venue sites
Outside of the actual Women's College World Series, which is once again being held at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, the venue sites for the regional and super regional rounds of the NCAA Softball Tournament are unknown going into Selection Sunday.
The reason for this is that the top 16 teams selected to the bracket will earn a bid to host a regional round, which is then replicated for the super regional round, but only with the top eight teams left in the field.
